Details

Tackle polishing hard-to-reach contours and curves with our small size detail mushroom buff.

Domed profile with loose-sewn layered cotton that allows the outer rim to contact curved surfaces and recessed crevices with better control for high gloss finishing where standard flat buffs won’t reach.

Made from 100% loose layered fine cotton, this buff performs significantly better than standard felt bobs.

Specs:

  • 100% fine cotton for use with fine polishing compounds
  • Loose-sewn cotton design offers a soft, flexible face that conforms easily to curves and contours for final polishing stages and provides gentle contact and cooler operation compared to medium-density or spiral-sewn buffs.
  • 2" diameter mushroom style buff can be used on flat surfaces, reaches deep crevices and curved profiles
  • 1/4″ arbor fits standard drills
  • For best results, use moderate drill speeds around 600 - 1,200 RPM. Do not exceed 1,500 RPM.

Ideal for:

Autobody and detailing shops, metal finishers, marine restorers working on finishing aluminum, stainless steel, chrome or cast metals.

Usage & Care Tip:

Don’t mix compounds on the same buff. Dedicate a buff to each compound.

This buff works best with fine metal-polish compounds such as white or blue rouge for final high-gloss finishing on aluminum, stainless steel, chrome or cast metals. For delicate plated surfaces or soft metals, red rouge offers gentle finishing. Also compatible with brown tripoli and green compound for initial smoothing or pre-polish on softer metals. Not intended for aggressive / coarse polishing abrasives.

Operate your drill or rotary at approximately 600 - 1,200 RPM for optimal finish and buff life. Do not exceed 1,500 RPM, as higher speeds may generate excessive heat, shorten buff life and risk of damage to the workpiece.

Clean the buff regularly to remove embedded compound and debris.

Replace the buff when you observe the tapered edges becoming visibly compressed, heavy discoloration, noticeably longer polishing times, or increased heat transfer to the workpiece.
